Professional golfer Jack Nicklaus thinks Donald Trump as president will be a hole-in-one for the United States.
“He’s turning America upside down. He’s awakening the country,” said the six-time Masters champion in a web-exclusive segment of “CBS Sunday Morning.”
Correspondent Jim Axelrod asked whether the country needs “a little of that.”
“We need a lot of that,” replied Nicklaus, who has worked with the billionaire businessman in designing golf courses.
Though Nicklaus admitted he thinks Trump may not be quite as “smooth” and “politically correct” as he should be in order to be president, he said Trump will learn.
“He’s not stupid. He didn’t get where he was by being dumb,” Nicklaus said.
“I like the guy,” Nicklaus said, adding that if Trump is on the ticket in November, “I’ll be voting for him.”
