Defeated Dem blames ‘white media’ for loss

Congressional candidate Charles Barron, a former black panther who nonetheless received the endorsement of a Ku Klux Klan leader and the retiring incumbent in his district, blamed the “white media” for his defeat yesterday and called for a recount.

“Addressing his supporters, Barron called for a recount and said he would not be calling [opponent Hakeem] Jeffries to congratulate him on the win,” the New York Daily News reported. “You know you good when you made the governor do a robo call for a primary,” Barron said. He also blamed “the white media” for his apparent struggles at the polls, the New York Times noted.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo didn’t help Jeffries because Barron was so “good,” but because the prospect of his victory was so terrifying to Democrats.

David Duke, former Grand Wizard of the KKK, endorsed Barron because his “dedicated anti-Zionist” positions — Barron has praised former Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi and described Israel as a terrorist state — apparently outweighed the fact that Barron is black in Duke’s mind.

“I think Barron’s a hatemonger,” one New York City voter said.

Rep. Ed Towns, D-N.Y., and the environmentalist Sierra Club endorsed him anyway.
