Yet another congressman braves Colbert

He whipped out a breast pump when talking with Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and belittled Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., for not being a full member of Congress, yet lawmakers are still agreeing to chat with Stephen Colbert.

Colbert’s newest victim is Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill., who sat down last week with the host of “The Colbert Report” for a taping of the “Better Know a District” segment. Members of Congress have been warned about going on the show, with the most vocal protest coming from Rahm Emanuel back in 2007, but that didn’t phase Quigley.

“I had 10 really good reasons to do the show,” Quigley said. “Rahm could only give me nine and half as to why not.”

Quigley’s House seat formerly belonged to Emanuel and former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, so Colbert had plenty of Chicago-related fodder to joke around about, we’re told.

“He was trying to get him to use the same vocabulary as [Emanuel],” Quigley’s communications director Aviva Gibbs said, referencing the White House chief of staff’s affinity for four-letter words.
