Each week, Yeas & Nays joins Carol Joynt, the host of the Q&A Café at Nathans of Georgetown, at various power breakfast spots around the city to see which players are getting their day started with deal-making, networking and glad-handing.

Monday morning, it was back to the Four Seasons, where we found a surprisingly quiet dining room. (The staff seemed to outnumber the patrons.)

Nevertheless, there was plenty of power to go around. Ed Mathias, managing director of 800-pound. private equity gorilla The Carlyle Group, sat down with Deborah L. Harmon, president and chief investment officer at Northern Virginia investment firm the J.E. Robert Cos.

Meanwhile, Republican headhunter Nels Olsen of Korn/Ferry International dined with an unidentified companion (the next big lobbyist?).

Mike Feldman, partner at the Glover Park Group and popular Democratic partier, stopped by the table of varsity breakfaster Juleanna Glover.

And, of course, Jonathan Silver, managing director of Core Capital Partners, held court with his usual gang of partners.
