MSNBC crew chased out of Occupy Oakland raid

If you have been following the Occupy Oakland protests, you already know that the protesters have decided that the media is not part of the 99% deserving safe passage at their events. An occupiers dog bit one television reporter last week. KNTV’s Bob Redell found out that even MSNBC isn’t considered part of the movement when Chris Jansing threw to him for a live shot of the Occupy Oakland raid this morning. Instead of a shot of the action, Redell reported while driving a news van:

Well there were some people who were with Occupy Oakland who has some choice words for us on air, so I figured it would be better if we were able to sit in a van.

Less mainstream media sources were treated better by the occupiers. Punkboyinsf posted a long video of himself reading off riot police helmet numbers on USTREAM this morning. Punkboyinsf reports:

Protesters chanting, ‘We are the 99 percent.’ I should say occupiers. Occupiers chanting, ‘We are the 99 percent.’… For those of you just joining, I’m at the corner of 14th and Broadway in Oakland, where the Oakland P.D. has decided to violate the First Amendment rights of the people here to peacefully assemble and work on problems in society. But apparently they went to insist that those problems continue and they are a part of the problem. Not the occupiers, but the police.

Kevin Army posts video of him getting knocked down by a cop.

Army writes:

About ¾ of the way down, officer # 570, who is pictured in the top picture, the big tall one, started yelling at me to stand back. I paused for a bit, I wanted to see who he was. Next thing I knew, he rammed into me, pushing me on the ground. Watching my video, which doesn’t capture the scope of the situation, or the amount of police, and it doesn’t capture the anger, the meanness in this mans face.
