President Trump’s approval rating at the one-year mark is lower than any president over the past 36 years, according to a poll released Thursday.
A Jan. 13-16 survey by CBS News found 37 percent of adults nationwide are content with Trump’s work compared to 58 percent who disapprove.
One year into his administration, former President Barack Obama’s approval rating was at 50 percent. George W. Bush received an 82 percent score, Bill Clinton was approved by 54 percent, George H.W. Bush was at 76 percent, and Ronald Reagan received a 49 percent rating.
Trump’s approval rating fluctuated between 35 percent and 43 percent in 2017. It remained lower than Obama’s lowest approval rating: 46 percent.
Trump’s disapproval rating also increased 10 points since last February.
The silver lining for the Trump administration is that two-thirds of Americans say the economy is very or fairly good.
The telephone poll was conducted with 1,225 adults nationwide and had a 3 percentage point margin of error.
