Comments made during a CBS email exchange indicate that CBS planned to ask Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., only a few questions because of her low poll numbers, according to the Bachmann campaign.
“[S]he’s not going to get many questions and she’s nearly off the charts,” CBS political analyst John Dickerson wrote to a producer in an email that he inadvertently courtesy-copied to Bachmann’s communications director.
Dickerson also counselled that CBS try to remain non-committal about scheduling a post-debate interview with Bachmann. “[L]et’s keep it loose,” he said, “in the hopes that we can get someone else.”
Bachmann’s campaign received the email because the producer had placed her on the thread in order to plan the post-debate show interview. Her campaign says the email “indicat[es] bias” and “a planned effort to limit questions to Michele Bachmann” during last night’s debate.
