Ted Cruz challenges Obama to debate in cartoon Facebook graphic

Ted Cruz, who it seems is never one to mince words or shy away, has challenged Obama to “insult me to my face.” He also challenged the president to debate him and Wednesday night on Facebook repeated that call with a Facebook graphic.

Mr. President – stop the insults and debate me anytime, anyplace on defending America.Posted by Ted Cruz on Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Cruz’s call for a debate comes in light of Obama’s partisan comments responding to GOP presidential candidates who have criticized the president’s plan to admit more Syrian refugees.

As the Hill reported, Cruz was referring to Obama’s “personal insults and attacks” as “utterly unbefitting of the president.” He also mentioned:

He talked about how he was belittling the Republican field as scared. Well let me suggest something: Mr. President, if you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries. But I would encourage you Mr. President, come back and insult me to my face.

Obama was in Turkey when he mentioned it was “shameful” and “not American” to only allow Christian refugees from Syria into the United States. Comments also came from him in the Philippines when he said about Republicans “apparently they are scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America.”

As the battle continues to heat up between Obama and the GOP, it seems that the Cruz campaign has become all the more creative.
