WHO: Bridgewater State College
WHAT: The Massachusetts college initially reported that the $77,181 it received in federal stimulus funds created 160 full-time work-study jobs.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: When the Boston Globe questioned the jobs figure, college spokesman Bryan Baldwin admitted it was a mistake and said the real number was “almost nothing.” Similar fabrications were found for much of the nearly $4 billion stimulus funds received by state government agencies, universities, hospitals, non-profits and private businesses.
