Designers behind 2008 Obama figurine release Hillary Clinton action figure

For those who already own the Hillary Clinton coloring book, now there’s an action figure on the market for purchase.

The design team over at FCTRY in Brooklyn, New York, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the mass production of a Hillary Clinton action figure designed by artist Mike Leavitt.

Jason and Alyssa Feinberg, who founded FCTRY back in 2008 after the success of their Obama action figure, are aiming to “kick off some light-hearted excitement” about Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign with the creation of the six-inch figurine for “all ages” and “genders” to enjoy.

The creators are enthusiastic fans of Hillary, calling her a “role model for all humans” on the Kickstarter webpage and labeling the project a “labor of love.”

“If we get this product off the ground, we will find various ways to use it to help Hillary’s campaign. Promise,” they declare on the page.

But don’t be fooled by her pocket-sized nature; Hillary is no Barbie doll.

“She’s not a ‘Doll,'” the page clarifies. “She’s an Action Figure and there’s a good reason why. Dolls like Barbie have a long history of sending out the wrong message to girls. Hillary Clinton is the antidote to that message, and this toy was designed to reflect that.”

While the action figure has already been designed and tested, the money — $15,000 — is needed to fund the first batch of Hillary’s mass production. The designers have already received $11,000 in contributions.

On behalf of every individual who contributes at least $1 to the project, FCTRY will send Hillary Clinton a “really encouraging” postcard.

However, if you donate $15 or more, you will receive your own first-edition Hillary Clinton action figure. The design team offers incentives for multiple levels of donations, the highest being $5,000.

If a contributor gifts this much to the cause, artist Mike Leavitt will create a personalized 12-inch action figure in his or her likeness.

According to the creators, the product offers no real risks unless, of course, you don’t donate.

“The biggest risk here is that if you DON’T support this project you could be sending potential opponents the message that Hillary might be beatable,” they warn.

The Feinbergs appeared on HuffPost Live recently to spotlight the new action figure.

“She’s essentially about as posable as a Barbie doll would be,” explained Jason, adding jokingly, “There is no Blackberry currently, so she can’t send e-mails or make phone calls.”
