Police: Fairfax murder victim was target of robbery

A year after a Fairfax Station man was killed in his home, police are still trying to track down his killer.

Fairfax County police said Thursday that detectives believe 61-year-old Yong S. Yun was killed in a robbery, the first time a motive has been offered in the Oct. 7, 2010, slaying.

Police said detectives have interviewed more than 80 people and watched 100 hours of surveillance footage over the past year, but have not identified a suspect.

This summer, police released a description and image of an older-model white pickup truck with a utility or landscaping trailer attached to it was seen nearby, at Ladues End Court and the Fairfax County Parkway, around the time of the killing.

Yun, the owner of a Chantilly car wash, suffered trauma to his upper body, but police not specified how he died.

His Lexus was missing from his home, but was found a few days later.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident or who remembers seeing a pickup truck near the home to call police at 703-691-2131 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
