Haley: ‘No question’ Russia involved in election hacking

President Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said Sunday there is “no question” Russia was involved in hacking last year’s U.S. presidential elections.

“Certainly, I think Russia was involved in the election. There’s no question about that,” she told co-anchor Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos.

The Trump administration has been willing to admit Russian involvement in a plan to undermine the U.S. presidential elections. But it has adamantly opposed any suggestion that Trump or his aides had been somehow involved.

Raddatz pressed Haley that Trump has been “dismissive” of Russian hackers’ attempts to interfere with the U.S. election. Haley quickly sought to downplay that characterization.

“I think we’re both saying the same thing. It’s just being reported differently,” Haley said. “President Trump has agreed and this administration agrees that Russia’s involvement in Ukraine is wrong and I think that if you listen to what he said about the elections, of course we don’t want any country involved in our elections and so that’s going to happen.”
