Boise, Idaho, was named the best city for military veterans to retire in, according to a study.
The Idaho capital city found itself placed atop 200 large cities compared across metrics including number of retirement communities, estimated senior tax burden, percentage of the veteran population aged 65 and older, and number of Veterans Administration health facilities and benefits offices, according to a study released Nov. 5 by SmartAsset.
“Boise is the top-ranked city for military retirees, in large part due to its third-best military retirement friendliness score, as well as the city’s low veteran poverty rate,” the study’s analysis showed.
