Mika Brzezinski on Trump: ‘There’s nothing there’

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said on Thursday that it’s impossible to talk about Donald Trump seriously because “there’s nothing there in this candidate.”

After cohost Joe Scarborough pointed that the Republican presidential nominee appeared to once again flip-flop on whether he would have a “deportation task force,” Brzezinski responded, “I think there’s not much to talk about because I think that it’s impossible to talk and have a conversation about nothing. I mean, it really is. He brings nothing to the table. He says one thing, he says another. There’s nothing there in this candidate.”

Trump expressed support for the idea of a “deportation task force” during an interview on “Morning Joe” in November, only for the candidate to appear to soften on that policy this month. Then on Wednesday night during his highly anticipated immigration speech, Trump said there would be “a new special deportation task force” focused on criminal illegal aliens.

“It’s so confusing for young minds like ours,” said Scarborough, who released a country-western ballad on his Facebook page Wednesday mocking “Amnesty Don” for his apparent “softening” on immigration reform. Despite previously friendly relations between Trump and the two cohosts, relations devolved into a feud in recent weeks after the Republican candidate targeted them with a series of personal tweets after their coverage of his campaign became increasingly critical.

“You got a great song out of it,” Brzezinski said. “You got some good art out of it because at this point you’ve got to laugh.”
