D.C.’s commander-in-chef Jose Andres was the only foodie to be named Wednesday as part of the 2012 Time 100, the magazine’s list of the most influential people in the world. There are, of course, more political Washington types on the list too. President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are both on it. Along with GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy made the cut, as did Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla, and IMF head Christine Lagarde.
Washingtonians will also love that “Homeland” star Claire Danes got a nod, receiving a written hat tip from former spy Valerie Plame Wilson. As for other interesting authorships, Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke penned a piece on Planned Parenthood head Cecile Richards, Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., wrote about Benjamin Netanyahu and Madeleine Albright had nice things to say about Walter Isaacson, author of the Steve Jobs biography.
