Fox News analyst Karl Rove predicted Ohio Gov. John Kasich would win the GOP primary in the Buckeye State, and he was correct, unlike in the 2012 presidential election, when he disputed reports that Barack Obama had won the state against former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
“Let me interrupt to you say: Karl Rove, right again,” Wallace said Tuesday during a live broadcast. “Fox News can now project that John Kasich will win his home state of Ohio.”
“Congratulations, Karl,” he added, “you got Ohio right this time.”
On the night of the 2012 presidential election, Rove argued with Fox’s Megyn Kelly, Wallace and others about the network’s claim that President Obama had won Ohio and a second term in the White House.
The Republican strategist claimed at the time that his personal calculations showed Obama had not, in fact, taken Ohio, and suggested Fox’s reporting was “premature” and too “early.”
He was soon proved wrong.
