Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang blasted the Democratic National Committee for its refusal to allow Fox News to host a Democratic debate.
“One thing I think Democrats should do, I think we should go on Fox News and talk to the American people,” said the tech entrepreneur. “Because how can you win an election and bring the country together if you literally won’t talk to 40% or 50% of the population?”
The DNC and top-tier Democratic candidates have avoided the conservative outlet in the lead-up to the 2020 general election. Yang, 45, has been repeatedly misidentified by some media outlets and has not shied away from appearing on Fox News.
“This is something I’d say that is critical of the DNC,” added Yang. “There’s a decision early on in the process where Fox said, ‘We’d like to host a DNC debate.’ And, to me, if you’re the DNC, you jump at that. You’re like, ‘Let me show my candidates to people who generally watch Fox News.’ But the DNC turned it down! I was like, ‘What are you doing?'”
Yang is currently polling at 4% in the latest national averages, according to RealClearPolitics.
