Snooki gets scolded for tweeting in traffic

Snooki should have known better.

The “Jersey Shore” star got caught in Newark, N.J., traffic earlier this week and took to Twitter to vent about it.

“Ugh stuck in newark traffic is no fun,” she tweeted, also complaining about driving a stick shift. (“I’m killen myself here,” she said.)

Enter Newark’s Mayor, Cory Booker, known for his overzealous use of Twitter.

“Snooki! I’m the mayor where R U so I can give u a ticket 4 texting & driving we needs revenue!” Booker inarticulately wrote. Snooki smartly didn’t respond.

But the Twitter slap didn’t stop there. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood also jumped in.

“Thanks for spreading the word about the dangers of texting while driving,” LaHood tweeted at Booker, linking to the mayor’s Tweet. Since taking over the DOT, LaHood has been incredibly vocal about the dangers of texting while driving.

The Department of Transportation did not return a call for comment.
