The Washington Post reports today that African American Republicans are frustrated by the lack of minorities showcased in the Republican Convention this week, and in the party in general:
Former Maryland lieutenant governor and current president of GOPAC Michael Steele told the Post, “It’s hard to look around and not get frustrated.” Still, when I caught up with him in St. Paul this morning, he was optimistic that we’ll see more minorities in the future. “I would love to have seen a greater role for minorities on the platform in terms of speaking, and sort of showing the true face of our party,” he told me, “It will come.” He is also confident about the GOP’s prospects, especially with Sarah Palin on the ticket.
