WATCH: Rob Schneider says, ‘I don’t care about my career,’ as he reveals his politics

Comedian Rob Schneider admitted he cares more about the state of the country than his own career.

Schneider appeared on political commentator Glenn Beck’s podcast Sunday to talk about where his priorities are as a father of three. The comedian came on as a guest after listening to the show, which “helped him go from a Hollywood liberal to a conservative who would rather be ostracized than stay silent,” according to the episode description.

“I don’t care about my career anymore,” Schneider said. “I care about my children’s — the country they’re going to live in.”

“Are you willing to lose it all for what you believe?” Beck asked the comedian.

“Absolutely,” Schneider said. “Because if we don’t have it, then we have nothing.”

Schneider is a Saturday Night Live alumnus with a portfolio of comedy movies. His latest stand-up special on Netflix from 2020 has an IMDb rating of 5.5 out of 10.

“I hate to crap on my own show,” Schneider went on to say on the podcast. He then described the moment he thought SNL had lost its comedic touch: when then-SNL actress Kate McKinnon dressed as Hilary Clinton and sang “Hallelujah” following the 2016 election — without a joke at the end.

“It’s over, it’s over. It’s not going to come back,” Schneider said of his reaction. “It’s gone. You can take the comedy routines — the comedic indoctrination process — happening with each of the late-night hosts, and you can exchange them with each other. That’s how you know it’s not interesting anymore. It’s not an independent voice anymore. It’s just all indoctrination by comedic imposition.”
