Fiorina blasts ‘sexist’ idea that she’s running for VP

Carly Fiorina has had it with speculation that she’s only running in 2016 to become vice president.

One day after CNN amended its criteria to pave the way for Fiorina to join the main GOP debate in two weeks, Fiorina blasted the “sexist” idea that she is only running for the presidency to become the running mate for the eventual GOP nominee next fall.

“If I may say, and I don’t say this very often — the people who keeping saying I’m in this for vice president, that’s sexist,” Fiorina told radio host Laura Ingraham, who raised the idea during the interview. “I am as qualified a candidate as anyone running.”

“No one talks about the men being in it to be veep. I’m not in it to be veep,” Fiorina continued. “I’m in it to win this job and to do this job, and we’ll see how the debate plays out.”

When asked about her debate strategy in two weeks, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO explained that she hasn’t gone out of her way to attack other 2016 hopefuls, and that will likely continue in two weeks when she takes the stage at the Reagan Library.

“I’ve spent most of my time focused on the Democrat Party and their front-runner, Hillary Clinton,” Fiorina explained. “Why? Because ultimately, the fight is against a Democrat Party that is undermining the core character — the foundation of this nation.”

Ingraham told the 2016 candidate that she needs to be ready for another potential surge in the polls following the CNN debate, which will force Jeb Bush and others to train their focus on her.

“They may come after me, but they will not destroy me,” Fiorina said. “Game on when this starts.”
