And he showed off that home to Georgetown’s cocktail set Sunday evening at his holiday party. Never one to throw just your normal get-together, Haseltine featured opera singers and a mariachi band as entertainment.
Attendees included Didi Cutler, Lucky Roosevelt, Stuart and Gwen Holliday, Izette Folger, Margaret Carlson, Walter Isaacson, Ann and Lloyd Hand, Martin Indyk, John Newhouse, Richard Burt, Gahl Burt, Ina Ginsburg, Sen. Ted Stevens, Aniko Gaal, Dodge Thompson, Christina De Paul, Richard Marks, Brendan and Lila Sullivan, Nora Maccoby, John Mason and Nini Ferguson.
So plush was the party that even Haseltine’s sister joked to Yeas & Nays about her brother Bill’s “eccentric hubris.”
Meanwhile on Sunday, lawyer and Mitt Romney adviser Barbara Comstock held her fifth annual ladies brunch at her home in McLean. As luck would have it, there was plenty to talk about: Not only had Romney appeared on “Meet the Press” that morning, but National Review’s cover-story endorsement of the governor just came off the presses, so the ladies got a first look.
We hear the guests were teasing National Review Editor Kate O’Bierne and asking her to sign copies.
