Coast Guard, Samaritans rescue 10 off Va.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Ten people were plucked from waters off Cape Charles by the Coast Guard and good Samaritans after their 24-foot boat capsized.

The Coast Guard said it dispatched a 41-foot utility boat Saturday night after reports that a fishing boat capsizing.

When the Coast Guard arrived, it rescued five from the water and five others had already been rescued by a good Samaritans in another boat.

None of the 10 rescued from the water was injured. A fishing vessel towed the capsized boat to Cape Charles Harbor.

The Coast Guard said none of the boaters was wearing life jackets.
