Charles Barkley: Heard from

Barkley: Hispanics are “the fabric of the cloth.”

That whole Arizona immigration law? Yeah — Barkley doesn’t care for it. The former Phoenix Suns player, longtime state resident and NBA commentator is among a few from the Suns franchise speaking out.

“The governor, the interim governor. I might add JD Hayworth and John McCain. They’re the ones screwing this thing up. I have to really take my hat off to Robert Sarver and his Suns for taking a stand,” Barkley said. “Living in Arizona for a long time, the Hispanic community are like the fabric of the cloth.”

Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver last week outfitted his team in “Los Suns” jerseys to protest the new law. President Obama gave Los Suns a shout at Wednesday’s Cinco de Mayo celebration at the White House.

“I know that a lot of you would rather be watching tonight’s game —- the Spurs against ‘Los Suns’ from Phoenix,” Obama said, to cheers.
