Durbin announced his positive test result ahead of a vote on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which was agreed to by Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Voting on the bill, which likely needs backing from all 50 Democratic senators for passage, will likely be delayed until after Durbin returns.
