Michelle Obama fashion shocker!

Your horizontal bands are confusing! (daily mail)

Noted fashion critic Matt Drudge is up in (sleeveless?) arms this morning over first lady Michelle Obama’s fashion risk-taking in London! Beltway Confidential concurs!

“LONDON SHOCK FASHION,” Drudge declares. “Michelle and the orange snake.”

Has the usually fashion-careful first lady gone too far? What are those flowery bands around her midsection? What would Stacy and Clinton say? The Daily Mail breaks it down:

On a visit to Westminster Abbey she wore a trendy colourful tunic embellished with ribbons and fabric flowers.

Teaming the look with a patterned belt the U.S. First Lady made the most of her narrow waist, while smartly referencing eclectic catwalk looks by British designer Christopher Kane.

Worn with dark slim-fitting trousers she topped it off with not one, but two cardigans.

The paper notes that the double-cardigan may be owing to the chilly London weather.

It’s Sasha Obama’s eighth birthday, and the first lady took the vacationing girls on a tour of Pinewood Studios where the latest Harry Potter film is being made. Sasha and Malia met Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and the rest, then had a party with cast and crew in the set’s Great Hall.

Two cardigans?! Deathly hallows!
