Trump dubs Rubio ‘Mr. Meltdown’

After branding Jeb Bush as “low energy” and Ted Cruz a liar, Republican presidential front-
runner Donald Trump has found a nickname for Marco Rubio: Mr. Meltdown.

Trump and Rubio found themselves in a series of fiery exchanges during the 10th GOP debate Thursday evening after months of avoiding direct hits against each other on the campaign trail. Trump said early this week that he hoped the Florida senator would “get nasty” so he could finally go after him.

On Thursday, Rubio did just that by criticizing the billionaire businessman for his hiring practices, and on Friday he followed up by calling Trump a “con man.” But Trump hit back with a tweet Friday morning:

In addition to his own tweet Friday morning, Trump also quoted several supporters late Thursday night and early Friday morning who congratulated him on his tough debate performance or took jabs at Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

With five days left until a dozen states cast their votes next Tuesday, Trump and Rubio will continue campaigning throughout the weekend in a handful of Southern states. Trump, who leads the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings, is set to host a rally Friday in Fort Worth, Texas, and one in Oklahoma City, Okla., where Rubio will also be campaigning Friday.
