Dallas nurse Nina Pham, who treated Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, was cleared of Ebola and discharged from a National Institutes of Health hospital in Bethesda, Md., on Friday.
“Of course I am so incredibly thankful for everyone that was involved in my care,” Pham said Friday. “From the moment I became ill and was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, up to today, my discharge from the clinical research center of NIH.”
Pham was one of two nurses who contracted the disease while caring for Duncan inside a Dallas hospital. She was diagnosed on Oct. 12 and days later was transferred to the NIH hospital. She will meet with President Obama at the White House Friday afternoon before heading back to Dallas.
