Woman gets prison for burning love

A Virginia woman who set fire to a church in the name of unrequited love will see prison time for her crime.

The Louisa Circuit Court sentenced Felicia Armstrong, 51, to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for torching a church attended by a firefighter who had not returned her romantic affections, Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Garrett said.

Armstrong admitted to burning St. John Baptist Church in Mineral, Va. last January.

The fire caused $22,000 in damage to the property. No one was injured.

Armstrong was also ordered to pay $32,316 in restitution.
