President Trump is keenly feeling the negative comments related to the border wall, a new report states.
Trump, who promised a border wall during the 2016 election and said earlier this month he would be “proud” of a government shutdown for border security, is stressed about the backlash he’s faced for not securing funds for a border wall yet, CNN reports.
Trump has called for $5 billion for a border wall as part of a massive spending bill, but lawmakers in Congress and Trump are poised to approve a short-term spending package that would keep the government open until February — and would delay securing funds for a border wall.
The move would also pose challenges for Trump’s border wall agenda in the next Congress, given that Democrats will have a majority in the House.
Pundits have been vocal in their criticism of Trump and his failure to obtain additional funds for a border wall. For example, conservative commentator Ann Coulter told the Daily Caller she will not vote for Trump in 2020 if the wall “hasn’t gone anywhere.”

“No. Nor will, I think, most of his supporters,” Coulter said. “Why would you? To make sure, I don’t know, Ivanka and Jared can make money? That seems to be the main point of the presidency at this point.”
“They’re about to have a country where no Republican will ever be elected president again,” Coulter said. “Trump will just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people, amused the populists for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever.”
