Chantilly teen left for school, has not come home

Loudoun County authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding a teenage girl who has been missing from the Chantilly area since early December. Fourteen-year-old Jennifer K. Sanford was last seen Dec. 2, when she left her home on Sandman Terrace to go to school, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Jennifer is believed to be with an acquaintance, 20-year-old Nicky Liu, of Berryville, Va.

Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, said he did not know how Jennifer and Liu knew each other or if they were in a relationship, but said they were “connected” and Liu was “not a stranger” to Jennifer.

Troxell said investigators have received some tips about the case, but authorities still don’t have concrete information on where they might have gone.

The pair has connections in other parts of Virginia and in other states, he said.

Jennifer gave no indication that she would be leaving and authorities don’t know why she might have left her home, Troxell said.

Authorities said Liu drives a 2008 gray Honda that has the Virginia license plate KJX4615.

Jennifer is biracial. She is white and Pacific Islander, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Authorities describe her as about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 120 to 135 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Jennifer wears glasses and has pierced ears.

Anyone with information about Jennifer or Liu is asked to call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-0475.
