Royal family says it will keep birth of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan baby secret

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex will not publicly share details of their child’s birth, a departure from the highly publicized births of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s three children.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement Thursday.

”Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the statement said. “The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

In contrast, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, publicly posed for photos outside St. Mary’s Hospital in London after she delivered Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Prince William and Prince Harry’s mother Princess Diana also posed with them outside the hospital after each delivery.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, 34 and 37 years old respectively, are expected to become parents the end of April or beginning of May, but the palace has not revealed an exact date. Their child will be the first royal baby that is half American.
