Obama’s nominee for ambassador to Norway ‘displays total ignorance’ of the country

President Obama’s nominee as ambassador to Norway, businessman and campaign bundler George Tsunis, is not impressing Norwegians.

The Local, an English-language news site, noted Tsunis’ “total ignorance” of Norway at his Jan. 16 confirmation hearing, reporting that he “committed a jaw-dropping diplomatic blunder before he even begins, describing politicians from the Progress Party, which has seven ministers, as ‘fringe elements’ that ‘spew their hatred.’ ”

Tsunis, CEO of Chartwell Hotels, raised $843,225 for Obama in the 2012 election cycle, according to opensecrets.org.
