Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says he doesn’t plan on stepping aside amid rumors that Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, will be the next secretary of State.
“I think we have a secretary of state currently, and I think he’s planning to hang around,” Tillerson told ABC New’s David Muir when asked about the rumors.
Haley told reporters Thursday she does not want to be the nation’s top diplomat if Tillerson leaves the Trump administration.

“What I’m trying to do is do a good job and I’m trying to be responsible in my job,” Haley said.
Haley, who was being considered for secretary of state after the election, told Trump she didn’t want the position because she didn’t think she was qualified.
“I’m very aware of when things are right and when they are not,” the former South Carolina governor told CNN. “I just thought he could find someone better.”
