Who wouldn’t want to watch an hour-long primetime soap about powerful young people in the nation’s capital? That’s what Josh Schwartz, creator of The O.C. and Gossip Girl, was thinking when he created the show “Georgetown.” ABC recently picked up the pilot described as a primetime soap about “young people behind the power brokers of D.C.” by the Hollywood Reporter. After previous attempts to gain viewers with political, fast-paced D.C. shows, maybe someone with a reputation like Schwartz’s is just what this city needs to get more attention.
