Update: Columbia Heights station reopened after suspicious package

Update, 4:30 p.m.: The Columbia Heights Metro station reopened at 3:20 p.m. Law enforcement officials investigated the package and determined it was safe, Metro said.

Update 2:42: The bomb scare that has temporarily closed the Columbia Heights Metro station comes from a suspicious package found at the intersection of 14th and Irving in Northwest, not inside the station, said Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.
