Liberal journalists are experts at pretending to be victims while their fortune and fame are actually accelerating. The Trump era put that scheme into overdrive, and it’s only going to get worse.
Case in point, CNN’s Don Lemon wrote Monday in Politico‘s Playbook newsletter that journalists “of color” deserve more recognition and advancement because Joe Biden was elected president.
Yes, Lemon actually said that. “Let’s be honest about the people who put Joe Biden and Kamala Harris over the finish line,” he said. “They were and are Black, brown and Asian, with Black women leading the way, like pacers in a marathon. It is high time we (because I am included in these groups) not only have a seat at the table, but lead the discussion and make some of the decisions.”
Lemon wrote that this should apply especially to his industry. “Black and brown journalists were more likely to be cancelled for speaking out than our white counterparts,” he said. “I wonder how many journalists of color didn’t get hired or promoted because companies just didn’t want to deal with that in the age of Trump?”
Hilarious. There was no better time to be a journalist “of color” than during the Trump years. They could say to the president or one of his spokespeople anything at all, and so long as they did it with corny melodrama, their colleagues would call it heroic.
Trump: Do you have a question?
No, Mr. President, we are not the enemy of the people.
Stunning! Brave!
April Ryan has been a pioneer of this idiocy. She got a CNN contract not because she’s an exceptionally smart reporter — she’s not — but because of her performances at the White House press briefings. Name one story Ryan broke. You can’t.
PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor was glamorized by Vogue and even got a book deal because she once asked the president if he was a white nationalist.
Brilliant! Valiant!
Joy Reid, the cringiest person in cable news, got a prime-time MSNBC show. Abby Phillip of CNN got her own show.
Minority journalists “were more likely to be cancelled”? Nonsense. In the Trump era, they were more likely to get promoted.
