Sixty thousand pounds of chicken nuggets recalled over possible rubber contamination

Pilgrim’s Pride is recalling nearly 60,000 pounds of chicken nuggets over a possible contamination by “flexible rubber material.”

The Waco, Texas, brand made the decision over the weekend after a customer complained about rubber pieces in the nuggets. The product in question is the company’s 4-pound box of Pilgrim’s Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Nuggets. The bags were distributed to stores in Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, and Texas.

The nuggets have a “best-by” date of May 6, 2021, and the lot number 0127. The company said there have been “no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.”

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,” the Department of Agriculture said. “These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

Those with questions about the recall have been advised to contact Pilgrim’s Pride at 800-321-1470.
