A young boy was joined by his classmates wielding paper heart signs as he attended a family court hearing making life with his new family official.
Michael’s entire kindergarten class and several teachers joined him in the courtroom as he and his new parents attended Adoption Day in Kent County, Michigan. Michael and 35 other children created legal ties to their new families, each being allowed 30 minutes of celebration after making it official.
“Probably the cutest story you will ever see,” shared James Starks of ABC 13 along with photos of Michael, his parents, and his classmates. “A kid who’s being adopted invited his ENTIRE kindergarten class to attend his adoption.”

“Michael wanted to make his adoption day even more special, so he invited a lot of friends,” the news network shared, showing video of smiling children cheering on their friend and waving hearts in his honor. “Michael’s my best friend,” one of the children said.
Michael and his parents banged the gavel on the judge’s count of three to seal the deal. “I love my daddy!” Michael explained after the ceremony.
