Newly revealed details from a memo reveal that Hillary Clinton’s campaign made an arrangement with the Democratic National Committee in 2015 that would allow the campaign to make some decisions regarding party staffing and spending for the general election, shedding new light on former DNC head Donna Brazile’s comments about a Clinton campaign takeover of the DNC. The memo outlines an agreement from Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook to DNC CEO Amy Dacey, to coincide with a standard Joint Fundraising Agreement, according to NBC News.
The memo, signed Aug. 26, 2015, explains that in exchange for fundraising assistance from Hillary for America, “HFA personnel will be consulted and have joint authority over strategic decisions over the staffing, budget, expenditures, and general election related communications, data, technology, analytics, and research.”
