Many world leaders spoke about the need to reduce carbon emissions. The planet, they said, is running out of time. Humanity is doomed.
Former U.S. President Barack Obama urged young people to “stay angry” and warned the world to do more to reduce emissions. It was a festival of warnings — and it set a new record for carbon emissions. In fact, “climate change for thee, but not for me” could have been the summit’s slogan.

This year’s summit in Glasgow had a carbon footprint approximately twice that of the previous summit in 2019, CNBC reports — “the most carbon-intensive UN climate conference yet.” The very world leaders demanding that you stop emitting are doing just the opposite.
You might even have to cut back your lifestyle in order to make up for their globe-trotting and partying.
The more summits they hold, the greater the damage these “green knights” do to the Earth. The 2019 climate summit in Madrid emitted approximately 51,101 tons of carbon dioxide, up from 43,000 tons in Paris in 2015. The two-week COP26 summit will emit about 102,500 tons of carbon dioxide — the equivalent of 8,000 average people’s emissions for an entire year!
Most of this results from flying so many dignitaries to Scotland. On top of that comes event security and the commute of so many people to and from venues. Despite the ability to function through much lower-carbon virtual and remote communications, these world leaders thought it was more important to do their thing than to alter their lifestyles. Funny, that’s how a lot of other nondignitaries feel.
This is just another example of why the climate change agenda should warrant skepticism. A group of people with an established pattern of making false doomsday predictions consistently does the opposite of what it demands from regular people. If actions speak louder than words, nobody should be listening to what these people say.
