Two deputies injured after crash

Two Loudoun County motorcycle officers were seriously injured Saturday morning after a vehicle pulled in front of them.

The officers were traveling south on Harper’s Ferry Road (Route 671) south of the West Virginia line when a vehicle made a turn in front of them.

Both deputies were airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital and remained there with non-life-threatening injuries. Route 671 was closed between Route 340 and Russell Road for part of Saturday afternoon.



FBI impersonator gets 30-day sentence

An Arlington woman who posed as an FBI official — hiring an assistant and arranging a clandestine trip purportedly to Iraq — will serve 30 days in prison, four months of house arrest and three years probation. Brenna Marie Reilly was sentenced Friday in federal court in Alexandria. District Judge Anthony Trenga said she could serve her confinement on evenings and weekends so it wouldn’t interfere with work and school.

MS-13 member sentenced for pimp’s slaying

An MS-13 gang member was sentenced to 40 years in prison Friday for his role in the robbery of a pimp and prostitute that resulted in the pimp’s death. Adolfo Amaya Portillo, 27, of Alexandria, was sentenced in federal court in Alexandria for the death of Claros Luna. Authorities say Portillo fired two of the three shots that killed Luna. He and two other gang members also robbed a prostitute.

CEO sentenced for bribery

An area businessman was sentenced to 20 months behind bars for the bribery and kickback scheme that shook up the District’s technology office. Sushil Bansal, 43, chief executive of D.C.-based Advanced Integrated Technologies Corp., was also ordered to pay $845,000 in restitution to the District government. Bansal pleaded guilty to bribery of a public official and money laundering.
