Also joining Redford to pull for arts funding were five-time Grammy winner John Legend and actress (and GWU alumna) Kerry Washington, both of whom have been vocal supporters of Barack Obama. After the hearing was over, the celebs signed autographs before heading to the Capitol for lunch with Democratic leaders.
Washington said she can’t wait to get back out on the stump for Obama, telling Yeas & Nays her next movie begins filming in mid-April, but she’s been trying to push it back until after the Pennsylvania primary. When we asked whether Hillary Clinton should drop out, she said, “No, I believe in democracy. But I feel really good about the numbers.”
