A Texas judge sent a letter to Disney CEO Bob Chapek Friday cordially inviting the company to build its next resort in Fort Bend County.
“Fort Bend County is a unique place,” Fort Bend County Judge K.P. George wrote.
“Our residents and families compose the most diverse county in the United States, deliver extremely high graduation rates, and are one of the top capita purchasers in Texas, have lots of wide open and affordable land, while also being strategically located for the most efficient distribution of goods domestically and internationally including the best access to both inland and water ports in Texas.”
“From Timone & Pumba to Tinker Bell, Disney characters are as diverse as Fort Bend County families. I welcome @Disney to visit Fort Bend County as your next destination while you face attacks from the modern day political extremists like @RonDeSantisFL,” George tweeted.

Bringing a Disney resort to Fort Bend would benefit the county financially and give Disney the opportunity to escape the punitive actions of Florida lawmakers and Gov. Ron DeSantis, George argued.
“While you, your company, employees, and diverse fans face authoritarian, anti-business, and culture war attacks from extremists in Florida, we in Fort Bend are more than ready to welcome the Disney family with thousands of good paying jobs and billions of dollars of investments,” the letter read.
“In fact, major employers like Amazon, Texas Instruments, Comcast, Gallery Furniture, and others have recently made massive investments in our community including thousands of good paying jobs with many more major employers on the way.”
Lawmakers in Florida recently passed legislation that would see Disney World’s private government dissolved, according to a report, and George said Fort Bend could be the perfect place for a fresh start.
