Attendees at the Democratic National Committee winter meeting on Friday were treated to a video message from Hillary Clinton, who promised to be there “every step of the way” in the Democratic Party’s fight to win future election contests.
Though she just completed an unsuccessful presidential run, Clinton gave her campaign credit for embodying the discontent fueling post-election protests and town hall confrontations around the country.
“The ideas we championed are now inspiring leaders and activists across our country,” she told Democratic officials. “Everywhere, people are marching, protesting, tweeting, speaking to and working for an America that’s hopeful, inclusive and big-hearted.”

She said the nearly 66 million votes she received gave her a popular vote advantage over President Trump, which is inspiring activists and grassroots supporters.
Clinton also encouraged “resistance plus persistence” for “equal progress.”
“The challenges we face as a party and a country are real,” she said. “So now more than ever, we need to stay engaged, in the field and online, reaching out to new voters, young people and everyone who wants a better, stronger, fairer America.”
“Keep fighting, and keep the faith, and I’ll be right there with you, every step of the way,” Clinton said.
