Hillary Clinton super PAC Priorities USA is launching a massive new online campaign to appeal to young voters with digital ads and a “We Can Stop Hate” website, where people can respond to some of Donald Trump’s most controversial tweets, share images on Facebook, and encourage their friends to #StopTrump.
The website also encourages young people to spread kindness, with a place to submit their own inspirational stories.
“Though loudmouth bigots like Donald Trump can make the world seem like a hateful place, we know they only represent a small minority of people,” the site says. “Have you witnessed or experienced an act of kindness lately that renewed your hope for humanity? Share it with us here and we’ll pay forward inspiring submissions on our socials. Let’s #StopTrump + pay kindness forward.”
The first ad of the Priorities campaign features 17-year-old Dante Latchman, who suffers from a rare form of spinal cancer. The ad shows a clip of Trump appearing to mock a New York Times reporter with a physical disability.
“I don’t want a president who makes fun of me, I want a president who inspires me, and that’s not Donald Trump,” Latchman said.
The ad will run on Facebook, Instagram, and Pandora in a number of swing states.
The Washington Post reported that groups including Planned Parenthood, Emily’s List, the League of Conservation Voters, Latino Victory Fund, and the Human Rights Campaign have partnered with Priorities USA and will soon come out with their own online ads.
