President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris continue to sink in public approval ratings, in part because women are abandoning the Democrats as inflation spikes and security concerns grow at the border and overseas.
In a new Zogby Poll shared with Secrets, Biden’s approval rating fell 13 points to 44% over his first year in office as voters questioned the competency of one of the most experienced Washington hands ever elected president.
Harris fell 10 points in her first year in office and now has a 43% approval rating.
“Right now, Biden and Harris’ job approval ratings are not particularly good, and they have dropped at least 10 percentage points or more among most surveyed groups compared to last year,” said pollster Jonathan Zogby’s analysis.

He said Biden suffered drops in support from women and older voters, significant parts of his 2020 victory coalition. Meanwhile, Harris did poorly with younger and older voters, though she helped the White House with strong support from minorities.
His analysis was a wake-up call for the Democrats and a warning that looking for another ticket in 2024 isn’t a nutty idea.
“Neither the president nor vice president are exciting their base. Many important groups, such as women, suburban voters and Independents are not pleased with Biden and Harris. Those groups were very strategic in swing states they won that helped them secure the victory in the 2020 presidential election,” Zogby wrote.
He added, “Right now, the only chance for Biden and Harris to rebound will be to pass their agenda and hope Michelle Obama does not enter the fray. That is ‘hope and change’ for you!”
