Reagan, JFK favored for next federal holiday

The Gipper’s still got it. On the eve of President’s Day, dedicated to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, a new poll finds that if Uncle Sam were to OK another federal holiday for a president, it should be named for Ronald Reagan. John F. Kennedy came in second.

In order for presidents most favored go get their own presidential holiday, according to Rasmussen Polls:

— Reagan, 22 percent.

— JFK, 19 percent.

— Thomas Jefferson, 16 percent.

— Franklin Roosevelt, 14 percent.

— Teddy Roosevelt, 8 percent.

What’s more, most Americans chose Reagan as the most influential president in the last 50 years. Some 40 percent said Reagan is tops, followed by Bill Clinton at 16 percent and JFK at 14 percent. Barack Obama ranked fourth, at 11 percent.
