George Travis Marshall, of Mitchellville, has been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of his wife, 48-year-old Jane Washington Marshall, according to Prince George’s County police.
Officers were asked to check on Jane Washington Marshall, also of Mitchellville, on Friday morning, but information about who made that request was not available Monday.
Officers found the woman dead at about 10:30 a.m. at the couple’s home in the 10100 block of Bald Hill Road, according to the department.
George Travis Marshall, 44, was arrested at an undisclosed location at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, police said. Investigators have yet to identify a motive in the crime, police said, and George Travis Marshall was being held Monday on a “no bond” status at the Prince George’s County Detention Center in Upper Marlboro.
