Illegal immigrants are ‘demanding’ Joe Biden give them permanent legal status

President Trump may not have fulfilled his 2016 promise to deport illegal immigrants by the millions, but he at least kept them in a state of some anxiety that at any moment they might be.

Trump was a constant reminder that they weren’t entitled to be here, that coming in unannounced was no longer how we were going to do things, at least for a while. But now, the Biden administration is about to take over, and illegal immigrants know that the new president is no Trump.

Movimiento Cosecha, the pro-open borders arm of the liberal Action Network nonprofit organization, announced Tuesday that illegal immigrants throughout the country are set this week to demand that the Biden administration extend protections for all 11 million-plus of them, even ones who have been deported.

“Undocumented immigrants are demanding a path to permanent legalization, dignity and respect for all immigrants living in cities and communities across this country,” Movimiento Cosecha said in a statement on Tuesday, “but also those in detention centers, sanctuaries, at the border and even those that have already been ripped apart from their families through deportation.”

The group plans to send illegal immigrants in several states out into the public displaying banners that say, “11 million demand permanent protection, dignity and respect.”

There’s no real reason for them to “demand” anything. They know they’re in charge now. And with Trump out of office, the new administration will certainly give them as much as they can as fast as they can, no questions asked. Open borders is the default Democratic position.
